An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and capable Farm Manager to take over a well-established beef finishing property in Omarama. Our client's current manager is returning to their family farm at the end of March, creating an opening for the right person to step into this rewarding role.
The Farm:
- 500ha total area
- 120ha irrigated under centre pivots
- Running 800-1,000 beef cattle annually
- Finishing operation from calves through to prime cattle
- Well-maintained infrastructure and irrigation systems
The Role:
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the property, including:
- Livestock management from calf purchase/rearing through to finishing
- Pasture and feed planning
- Irrigation management (pivot systems)
- Animal health and welfare
- Record keeping and reporting
- Machinery operation and general farm maintenance
- Health & safety compliance
You will work closely with the farm owners to meet production and performance targets while maintaining high standards of stockmanship and land stewardship.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in beef finishing systems
- Strong stockmanship and animal health knowledge
- Good understanding of irrigation and pasture management
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Practical machinery skills
- Good communication and record-keeping abilities
